Company philosophy
In our feeds and supplements for dogs you will not find ingredients that come from important food sources for marine mammals such as whales and dolphins, nor ingredients that come from farmed salmon. Why? Overfishing of krill and small fish is causing a dramatic decrease in natural food not only for the magnificent dolphins and whales, but also for many other marine animals. This is causing a gradual decrease in their population in the seas and a significant disruption of the overall marine ecosystem and consequently, a decrease in livelihoods for people who's existence depends on the marine ecosystem.
Salmon farming, among other things, causes massive pollution of sea waters with antibiotics and other chemicals. Salmon, whose natural behavior and way of life is free movement and annual migration to cold freshwater, are locked up and squeezed in large farm cages by the tens of thousands to hundreds of thousands, where they are fed industrial feed derived from other fish, the overfishing of which causes a decrease in natural food for many other marine animals and fish species. Moreover, salmon farmed in this way in most cases suffer from massive infestations of fish parasites, such as sea lice, etc., which literally eat the salmon alive.
Despite the above mentioned, many pet food and supplement manufacturers still use ingredients of non ecological marine origin in their formulas and do not address the toxic substances and heavy metals found in their sources. This is also despite the fact that there are already various alternative sources of nutrients for dogs and cats on the market today, often much better accepted by them and, moreover, not causing possible allergic reactions.
Making more sustainable decisions and choosing solutions that will have the least impact on nature is part of our philosophy. The production of supplements and feeds is carried out in an energy-efficient manner, we save water resources and electricity. We select feed materials from Czech or European suppliers who directly grow and produce them or purchase them from local producers. If we cannot find the required quality of even a single ingredient for our recipes in Europe, we turn to the US market. We recycle packaging materials and also choose fully recyclable packaging for our products that was produced in the Czech Republic or neighboring European countries.
Do you like our black lid jars that we use to package your dog's supplements and food? They come from a Czech manufacturer and after you use up the supplement inside and remove the paper label, you can easily use them, for example, to store treats for your furry friend. When you want to get rid of them, throw them in a recycle bin for plastic. They are made of fully recyclable PET material, which is then used to make for example fleece sweatshirts or dog beds.
Packing your shipments in fully recyclable packaging with paper tape instead of the classic plastic one is one of the small details that will save you time when sorting waste. Just take the ordered goods out of the box and all the remaining waste can go into the recycling bin for paper without sorting. No more picking up bubble wrap and laborious peeling off plastic tape!
